Work immersions are one of the best ways to initiate students for the real world, inspiring Phoenix Publishing House, Inc. and Sibs Publishing House, Inc. to team up and launch “Jumpstart,” a program that guarantees qualified senior high school students slots for work immersion.
Slated on Sept. 13, at the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, “Jumpstart” is set from 9 to 11 a.m. and 2- 4p.m., they will have sessions on resume writing, answering interview questions, and dressing appropriately for an interview appointment given by experts in human resources.
With “Jumpstart,” Phoenix and Sibs may serve as the qualified students’ workplace immersion venue, where they acquire relevant and practical skills under the guidance of publishing industry experts. Students will also get the opportunity to learn and enhance their technical knowledge and improve their communication competence for future employment. Proper work ethic and attitude for challenges in higher education and employment are also in the program.
Through their educational foundation, Phoenix and Sibs have also partnered with the Philippine Retailers Association, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the People Management Association of the Philippines in helping accommodate students into the workplaces of their member companies.
The MIBF is organized by Primetrade Asia, Inc. in partnership with Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc., Book Development Association of the Philippines, Philippine Booksellers Association, Inc., and the Overseas Publishers Representatives’ Association of the Philippines.
