MassKara Festival organizers are now accepting entries for the “Nights of Mardi Gras” fantasy costume competition slated October 10, 11, and 12 at the Bacolod Public Plaza.
As part of the nightly entertainment at the plaza during the MassKara Festival, the participants will parade at the San Juan, Gonzaga, and Gatuslao sides at 7 p.m.
Interested participants may contact event coordinator Amber Aguilar at 0920-9256-321.
Participants must be at least 16 years old and should wear a half mask and a grand “Mardi Gras fantasy costume.”
Organizers will select a maximum of 50 entries, who will parade around the plaza for two nights [Oct. 10 and 11] for the elimination round.
Each night, eight participants will be selected to advance to the grand finals on Oct. 12.
The sixteen grand finalists will parade around the plaza and converge at the bandstand stage for a showdown—where there will be five winners.
The grand winner will receive P10,000 cash; 1st runner-up—P7,000; 2nd runner-up—P5,000; 3rd runner-up—P3,000; and 4th runner-up—P2,000.
The 11 non-winners will receive P1,000 each.
The 50 qualified entries will also receive P1,000 each.
The “Nights of Mardi Gras” is an official event of the 38th MassKara Festival, which will open on Oct. 1 and run until Oct. 22.*
